Alicia Gavita

 

 

Alicia Gavita is a Registered Dietetic Technician and a Bachelor’s level social worker. She received her Associate in Science degree in 1990 from Broward Community College in Dietetic Technology and her undergraduate degree in social work from Florida Atlantic University in 1996. She has worked in the mental health field for over 13 years and has acquired expertise providing nutritional education, assessment and counseling to adolescents and women with Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge Eating Disorders.

 Alicia has also worked in the substance abuse treatment field as an “Adjunct Therapist” (case manager) assisting men and women of all ages in developing basic life skills, providing discharge planning and facilitating psycho-educational relapse prevention groups.

 Alicia is employed at the Rega Mental Health Center as a Registered Dietetic Technician and Clinical Coordinator providing dietary assessment and counseling, facilitating psycho-educational groups, and coordinating discharge planning. She is bilingual and fluent in Spanish and English.
